Today was quite a week! Dizzy will let you know how the first week in the kitchen went, and Robin is coming back to talk about leaving JB because JB 40 graduated today!
"It was our first week in the kitchen and...we rocked it! We did a trial run of a new recipe that came out amazing! We learned a lot and worked so hard, and our hard-worked showed.
We started our final coursebooks: Controlling Foodservice Cost and Supervision. We had our final test for Nutrition and passed!! ServSafe is the next test and we are taking it next week Wednesday.
We had a thick workload this week, but continue on feeling positive and excited to continue!"
Class 40 Graduates:
It's sad goodbyes but positive vibes as class 40 graduates this week! While we're happy to have pushed through and stuck to it until the end, it's such a strange feeling to know it's over. A humbling experience, with doors opening left and right, we are beyond grateful for being given the opportunity, and I think I can speak for each out us in saying that not only learning here has helped us grow, but the never-ending support from every corner (instructors, peer support, case management, and from each other) will help us keep the courage and positive attitudes to continue moving forward in our lives ahead. From Jonquil, Michelle, and myself (Robin :) ), we say with tear-filled eyes and huge gratitude- thank you Jaclyn, Zack, Sonja, Justin, Carmella, Kaziah, Natalie, Allie, and the entire Just Bakery staff/program for believing in us and seeing our potential through every process. Big hugs! On to the next chapter- wish us luck!"
We are blessed to be able to continue working with JB 40 students while they complete hours and get their stuff together- it's always so hard when a great group moves on, but it's exciting to see them be so successful!
