"We are officially in our 2nd month of classes and our 2nd week in the kitchen. We devoted most of our kitchen time this week putting all of our love into our limited time only Valentine's Day Baskets. We dipped and decorated various shapes and flavors of tea cookies, and student, Amber, came up with a new recipe idea: Red Velvet Biscotti with white chocolate! Not only did our cookies come out looking beautiful, but our biscotti recipe was perfect and will be available for sale at Sunday sales this week as well as online!
In the classroom, we took our ServSafe test and became officially ServSafe certified!
We are chugging right through our Cost and Supervision classes and are glad to have our other classes behind us, though we are still preparing for our final Nutrition presentations next week.
Special speakers this week included Alyssa from the Civil Rights Center who came it to train us on how criminal records relate to gaining employment, and what is and is not allowed by potential employers. Today, we had a group on grief.
We continued employment work on resumes and cover letters this week with our new intern, Lily.
